BEAUTIFUL   Beautiful The God we serve Faithful His way with man Powerful The Spirit of God Knowable His will for us Findable The peace we pray Wonderful His plan for man Believable The God of Love Lovable His Son Jesus _____ _______ _____   The True and the Beautiful (July 4, 2011) What if it was all true? The sudden suspicion that God might be who he said he was seized me like a thought from another world. Was it possible that a religion was worth following not because of whatever good it might afford me or for moralistic obligation, but simply because it was true? The thought meant entertaining a new starting point; it meant admitting that I might not have been seeing with all the facts in the first place. It meant considering that God was there all along. Of course, it did not mean that my angered questions gracefully bowed out at the thought that they might be premature or even nonsensical. NEW DAY In this new day Of mercy and grace Light shines In this new day Of peace and hope Light shines On this new day Of life and joy Light shines On this new day The love of God shines Let us determine to enjoy it JEFF 2011 THE LIVING HOPE 1 Peter 1:3 HOPE LIVES In the face of mercy and grace This hard heart continually breaks Broken before the Creator of all Hope lives In the holy place of absolute strength This human heart refuses to beat Lying facedown before the Cross Hope lives In this glory of God's promised love This fearful heart finds new courage Kneeling before the Lord of life Hope lives In the assurance of God's perfection This rebellious heart falls apart Confessing sin in light of forgiveness Hope lives J E F F 2 0 1 1 Praise to God for a Living Hope 3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! NEXT STEP LOVE   When the road ahead is dark, And fear assaults your weary heart; Trust God's love is perfect enough, Choose to make your next step love. When the future you see is bleak at best, And there's no one to offer encouragement; Believe that God who sent His Son from above, Will give you grace to make your next step love. When time is standing still or may be running out, And freedom is covered over by a shadow of doubt; Faithfully follow God through good times and tough, Hold on to the Lord Jesus Christ and make your next step love.
