GREAT LOVE

Image
Psalms 18:2 The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower. GOD IS MY ROCK All I have is faith, Faith is all I have; Faith that pleases God, God is my Rock. My Rock is Jesus, Jesus is God's very Love; Love that never changes, Love for all the ages. My only hope is God, God is my only hope; Hope that lives in Christ, The Savior of the world. The world is a big place, Too big for my little brain; My faith is in its Maker, The maker of heaven and earth. All I need is faith; Faith is all I need, By faith I trust God knows my name, And accepts me in His perfect grace. But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ— by grace you have been saved—and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the

Swindoll Read 1 Samuel 30:1--6   David had reached the point in life where some people think of taking their own lives. He was so far down the ladder of despair that he'd reached the bottom rung. The last stop. The place where you either jump off into oblivion or you cry out to God for His forgiveness. For rescue. The wonderful thing is that we do have that choice, because God never gives up on His children.

POETS CORNER

Search me, Oh God, and know my heart:  try me, and know my thoughts.  Psalm 139:23      TRY ME, OH GOD Search me Lord, Know my heart. Find in me, Every anxious part.   Indeed, my flesh is alive and well, Not Thy will, God, but mine indwells. Hold me Lord, Mold my heart. Break in me, Every selfish part.   Indeed, my flesh is dead and often smells, Not my will, God, but may Yours indwell.   Change me Lord, Purify my heart. Revive in me, The humble part.   Indeed, my spirit is weak and useless, Live in me, God, and find me less.   Use me Lord, Srengthen my heart. Redeem in me, The holy part.   © Jeffree E. Think on These Things

Think on These Things One of the tragic casualties of our age has been that of the contemplative life--a life that thinks, a life thinks things through, and more particularly, thinks God's thoughts after Him. A person sitting at his or her desk staring out the window would never be assumed to be working. No! Thinking is not equated with work.   Yet, had Newton under his tree, or Archimedes in his bathtub, bought into that prejudice, some natural laws would still be up in the air or buried under an immov- able rock. Pascal's Pensees, or Thoughts, a work that has inspired millions, would have never been penned.   What is even more destructive is the assumption that silence is inimical to life. The radio in the car , Muzak in the elevator, and the symphony entertaining callers "on hold" all add up as grave impediments to personal reflection. In effect, the mind is denied the privilege of living with itself even briefly and is crowded with outside
